What does recovery mean?

Well, the dictionary defines it as the following:

But what does recovery really mean?

Recovery means stowing my body consciousness in the corner where it belongs, dressing for the beautiful weather, and going out for a walk.

Recovery means practicing creating art instead of resorting to using behaviors.

Recovery means feeling ugly as all get-out but still staying the course.

Recovery means making small mistakes, but it also means learning from them along the way.

Recovery means intense, unbearable hatred and disgust.

Recovery means gaining, both physically and mentally.

Recovery means falling down innumerable times, but it also means standing up each of those times.

Recovery means learning to embrace hunger cues again instead of being horrified by them.

Recovery means sharing my story with others in the hopes of inspiring them to continue along on their own journey.

Recovery means putting on a brave face while I’m falling apart on the inside.

Recovery means breaking into a thousand tiny pieces and then spending the time trying to put them back together again.

Recovery means blind faith, and it also means facing the unknown.

Recovery means life.
